METHOD 1: (Reinstall the Print Head)
Usually, the print head is failing when it after be installed. The Fail Print Head error will display on the printer control panel and the printer does not print. An unlatched or improperly seated print head can cause this error.
For resolve this error follow the folowing steps:
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
(9) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
[NOTE]: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
METHOD 2: (Resetting the Printer)
(1) Press the Power button to turn on the product.
(2) With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
(3) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(4) Wait at least 15 seconds.
(5) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
(6) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
(7) If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
METHOD 3:
(1) Step 1: Disconnected the USB cable if it is plugged into a computer.
(2) Step 2: Remove the cartridges from the printer as well.
(3) Step 3: With the power still on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, as well as the wall, then wait about 60 seconds.
(4) Step 4: Plug it back in to the wall first, then the printer, allowing it to boot up.
(5) Step 5: If it gives you a message similar to "The following ink cartridges appear to be missing or damaged" you may reinstall them at that time when prompted.
(6) Step 6: If you get the same error message, if you have a number pad on the printer, do the same steps but before plugging it back in, hold the "#" button with the number "3", and plug in the power cord back into the printer while holding the buttons down.
(7) Step 7: Once the printer starts showing that it's coming back up, you can let go of the buttons, and allow it to come back up.
(8) Step 8: If you still continue to get the message, then do the same thing except hold the "#" button and the number "6" on your keypad and allow it to come back up.
(9) Step 9: If you still get the message after all of the above steps are done, contact HP for a replacement if your printer is still in warranty.
METHOD 4:
The printhead is deffective; you'll have to replace it.
